The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart UK tour

The Prudencia Hart tour has begun, and we've played in Kirkcaldy, Blair Atholl and Nethy Bridge to a fantastic reaction. The hospitality has been lovely, and we've been made really welcome by the venues.
One of the things I love about touring is the opportunity of eating in new places. The foodie highlights so far, have been the homemade bread sandwiches made for the show by the Blair Atholl Watermill and cafe and Anderson's Restaurant in Boat of Garten-taste treasures in the North.

The adventure continues next, with a revisit to the Ghillie Dubh in Edinburgh for two sold out shows.
Check out what I'm up to here and come see!

Travelling Folk, BBC Radio Scotland, Thursday 8th March

I'll be appearing on Radio Scotland's 'Travelling Folk' with Bruce MacGregor. I'll be playing three pieces of music - the first one being an influence on my early career, the second - what I'm currently listening to, and finally a track of my own choice. Never has choosing been so difficult!

Scottish Opera " A little bit of Northern Light" 5th-16th March 2012

I will be touring with Scottish Opera in a show for primary schools. It's a lovely wee show about Scottish Lighthouses, and it's the first time I've ever shared the stage with an albatross! (known as Albie)

International Folk Alliance, Memphis 22-26th Feb 2012

I'm chuffed to be invited to attend the Folk Alliance Convention in Memphis. I'll be there as a delegate of Burnsong, and going with my musical compadres Aaron Jones and Aly Macrae. Yeeehaw!

Burns Night App

A new app has come out for Burns Night, by Scottish publishing company Saraband. It's full of tales and songs, stories written by the bard himself, recipes, descriptions of Burns suppers and what it all means, why we eat haggis, the great chieftain o the puddin' race, and the reason I'm on it is because it features the trio of myself, Corrina Hewat and Karine Polwart singing our hearts out, and my daughter Kirsty put it all together!

You'll find it on the iTunes app store, where itís been getting 5 star reviews. Read more about the app on the Saraband website.

Burns Supper at the Scottish Parliament

As a participant of the Burnsong house 2011, Iíve been invited by Burnsong, to perform at this prestigious event in the Scottish Parliament on 25th January 2012. Whatís even more exciting is that I will be performing with my daughter Kirsty, who was a winner of the 2011 under-25 Burnsong competition. Also appearing will be 2010 Burnsong winner and long-time musical compadre Aly Macrae. See burnsong.org for more details.
